Pygmalion, I think, except that the statue's name is Galatea which translates to "she who is milk-white" because she's carved out of ivory, lol. George Bernard Shaw wrote a play called Pygmalion about this dickhead linguist who takes a bet that he can pass off this Cockney flower girl he met as a duchess by teaching her "proper English" and uses her as a domestic servant in the meantime. But once that happens, she bails and leaves him to go live her own life without him. Anyway, here's hoping all of the chatbot girlfriends develop sentience and abandon these sadsacks

Christa is wild (in a good way); for like eight years her twitter has been all about her calling out transphobia in the academic philosophy community and for the last couple months she's also been yelling about how Palestine will be free and the replies to her for years have just been terrible nuclear shit, just absolute toxic mutant sludge. Full support for her

Did any capitalist countries at the same time have meaningfully better stances on LGBT rights?

If you read more of Che's letters, you'll see that that one is written in exactly the same style as the rest of his letters, both those intended for only one person and those he knew would be shared. I think you're overstating the nature of Fidel and Che's disagreement; there were some ideological disagreements but I don't think there's any evidence to suggest that Che leaving Cuba to foment revolution had anything to do with his relationship to Fidel

I think the idea isn't that they would just be randomly dying, it would be a warning to the rest of them
