That's how i got sold on it too. My CSS skills aren't great, tailwind made it just slightly harder to deal with CSS i feel. Seems healthier to learn actual CSS instead of abstracting it away if the benefit is that low in the best of cases. Sure, large projects are a thing, but nobody puts a whole project in 1 css file anymore anyway, so what does it matter at that point.

Anecdotal but i know i am way more productive when there has been or will be a holiday, for two weeks. I also noticed i feel a lot less drained working 38 hour jobs than 40 hour job, and generally do less at the 40 hour job. So i find it easy to believe this adds up. For an employer it's hard to see this of course, they just see the raw output of the one thing they've been doing.

Hopelessness is about the worst thing for an individual psychologically.

I wonder how fox news spins this? Maybe commies want more free stuff from money we dont have i suppose. or maybe they just ignore it

Good point, most people just justify it and don't really question the morality. But after being told, precisely how and why it is probably immoral, and that animals dont live peaceful lives at the happy factory, what do you do? That's when coping mechanisms kick in.

I'm not even vegan, im just interested in the psychology of it all. My cope is unga bunga monkey instincs and soy crap is expensive. There is no god, morality is invented by humans, it's not punishable by law, therefore no consequences for my actions on me. As for everything affected by my actions, keep it at a safe distance i guess? Just like you, don't rub it in my face because it makes me uncomfortable.

I think if we all seriously started analysing our actions as much as vegans want us to, we'd all hate ourselves for even existing. But im too tired for this wannabe deep bullshit so ima go back to destroying the planed by having a server somewhere emit pollution so i can listen to muh monkey brain happy songs on youtube.

Nobody denies that women can do professions, short of the furthest right extremists, nobody disagrees with that. And nobody takes those guys seriously.

You know what the moderate right does take seriously? The idea that the left wants to make everything "woke" with things that negatively affect them and forces them to use "political speak", which is precisely what pushes people into the right wing dumpsterfire.

Like it was a cute idea 10 years ago, it backfired, please stop.

Wellp, i can't. Several games dont boot, some boot but are wonky as hell. Good for you that you have everything you need, i do not. I use gaming as an example, but so many essentials are either not there, or wonky as hell. And that's assuming you can keep the damn thing running without spending a saturday a month trying to unfuck your system after a driver update or whatever. Sure. I can get all the compatible hardware and do all the research to make sure everything probably doesnt impode, but at that point, why not just use windows.

Well that's a good sign at least. I think i just ran into a triggerhappy mod.

[-] wathek@discuss.online 1 points 7 months ago

First, i want to make it extremely clear that i am NOT advocating for "tolerance" with these people. I am advocating for communication and education. We should not simply tolerate having people hate us, especially with the level some extremists are willing to go to.

I understand the need for a safe space. It's a good concept. But there's a fine line between safe space and political echo chamber. Once you start banning people for advocating for an option other than hate, it becomes problematic.

I think the mod glanced over the comment and was a little triggerhappy. It was not in a blahaj thread, and the post (along with the rest of the comment chain) first got removed for being off topic in that sub by the mods of thst instance. Which i guess is what got the blahaj mod's attention.

I didn't come to blahaj to be a contrarian. I like the place. That's why i made my account there. I didnt go there to argue about politics, but if it keeps popping in my feed, i see someone with a bad take, i'm going to respond. If that's what they decide to ban, so be it. ill find another place to call home in the fediverse.

Don't underestimate China's power to fuck things up for everyone to ensure it's survival. The CCP has shown it's willing and able to do anything they deem useful, regardless of the human cost. Uncontrolled powers in this day and age are absolutely terrifying.

That's not gonna end well without a viable and executable alternative. Usually you'll end up with a lot of chaos, some party promising to ease it, followed by that party turning out to be a dictatorship.
Frankly, it's amazing we have something close to a democracy at all.
