Imagine when some popular show decides to make seasons 1-3 on one platform and then 4,5 on a different one and then 6 on another different one.

Politics in America is basically just like everything else. It’s just a brand people adhere to regardless of who works there. It’s the fast food of government.

If you like McDonalds better than Burger King, that’s where you’re gonna go. You don’t care who the manager of the McDonalds is. It doesn’t impact your decision.

That’s American politics now.

That's totally true as well.

Reddit is going to have to make the argument that it just boosts “what people like” and it just so happens people like negative engagement.

And I mean it’s been known for decades that people like bad news more than good news when it comes to attention and engagement.

No one’s right to free speech is absolute. You’re taught this in middle school. Trump should go to jail.

That being said - this is what journalism is now. All you have to do is write an article that will be shared on social media so that people can circle-jerk underneath it.

“Experts say Trump broke the law. Badly.”

Get that on the internet and watch your engagements shoot through the roof with zero effort on your part.

“Anyone paying attention knew this years ago”

“Why is he not in handcuffs already”

“Won’t matter to his supporters. You can’t talk to these people.”

Comments rolling in. Ad revenue rolling in. Media staff members high-fiving as their quarterly goals are met and they are drinking rum and cokes on the clock because how does this shit pass as a journalism gig.

Sure but you can just as easily spend zero cents in other games and get 10x the content.

How do you tell the difference between someone asking you to show evidence for your claims, or clarifying your point, or having a normal conversation with you - and sealioning?

Can you give examples of both cases?

All my friends and coworkers didn’t start a family until their 30s. Unless their parents were rich and therefore were immune to challenges in life.

I have never heard someone have this experience, however it is something you need to get used to and get better at. After about a week of getting used to it I have never seen poop on the toilet paper at all.
