Oh no! There's a 4k version of the Star Trek movies?

Maybe I'll just get a new pair of glasses instead, it might end up cheaper in the long run.

The latest round of AMD apus generated a fair amount of debate about how for the same money you could get a cheap CPU and GPU and best it in most tests.

I think Intel would really shine there especially the A750 since it has a lot of quality hardware features including AV1 encoding.

Oh man Ghosts of Mars! They should have paid you to take that one.

I'll check the ffmpeg settings. Thanks.

I saw that in the docs. I am only interested in encoding in AV1. My CPU is a 5900x so it's decent enough at decoding. I'll check ffmpeg settings.

6700xt should have a longer life. With the 12gb vram. They are ~$330 US new and just under 300 used/refurbished. The 7700xt is close in performance to the 6700xt but has newer video codec support and if you don't need that specifically they 6750xt or 6700xt is a much better value.

Greater than 60fps on high-ish on most AAA games at 1440p (Cyberpunk, Red Dead) in my, (my buddy's) experience.

For a while I had one of those jack inserts that was a micro-usb that had a mag-safe type of charging cable that went with it. It was cool but I always had to keep my own cable with me or id have to remove the little dongle thing and it would get lost.

Something kind of like this.

I have maintained for a while that if phones came with 2 USB ports instead of just 1 you could have your cake and eat it too. My biggest gripe with the lack of a headphone jack is that I can't charge my phone and listen at the same time. 2 ports, one on each side for right and left handed people to pick their favorite charging location and you get a ton of other options for peripherals that way.

From what I remember, the M9 had some issues with processor overheating and didn't live up to the M8 legacy. Id love to see a tablet with a proper kickstand come back around. I got a first generation Microsoft Surface when I went to college and the kickstand on it just wasn't good. Plus the battery life was awful. I ended up selling it and just buying a regular laptop. That Yoga sounds like what I wished the Surface would have been.

I watched TNG first and going back to the 60s was... something. Luckily I am a huge fan of Twilight Zone and season 1 of TOS is like Twilight Zone in space.

Spock vs Bones is also a great dynamic in any TV show. There's some garbage episodes though. But that's the case for the first few seasons of all the Star Trek.

Might be best to find a "Greatest Hits" list and jump around to see if you like it first. The best episodes (Balance of Terror, the Doomsday Machine) of TOS are as good as the best in any series in my opinion.
