Also, that's funny that USAA won't cover bikes that assist above 15mph, since literally every class of eBike goes faster than that

That is, however, the legal limit for e-bikes in the EU (25 km/h), everything else you need license and registration for.

There's a world of difference between a legit branded eBike

Seriously, what is going on with the US (from another article that’s linked in this one):

“I had my e bike (although it’s one of those that look like scooters with the big batteries) in the elevator and the super just happened to come in. He stared at it and said you can’t charge these in the building. You’ll be getting a letter soon. I got it and it said e-bikes were not allowed in the building anymore because of all the fires that have come up because of them. It’s really sad too because I just ordered myself an e-bike from alibaba that I’d been waiting weeks for.“

Who the fuck buys an e-bike on ali-fucking-baba?

Right cuz cyclists are totally paying the road fees to keep the road maintained even they don't cause any damages at all. What was it called? Ah yes. Taxes

I gotta hand it to you, kid, you're the perfect specimen why communities like fuck cars exist, and why nothing is changing.

Even presented with a fucking wishing well you cannot come up with anything but "CAaAaR", because your imagination spans from wall to wallpaper.

You could have imagined and wished for e.g. a working infrastructure of cargo bike sharing, but nope!, car it is!

You don't understand why people hate cars, you're part of the reason people hate cars.

I don't have money, I don't make money, so I couldn't get an Uber/Lyft/Taxi (Not to mention that we don't have taxis where I live).

Ah, a car is free, of course, it just drops out of nowhere and runs on unicorn dust. Tonight, please ask mommy and daddy what they're paying for their car(s). Full cost: down payment, monthly payments, fuel, repairs, insurance, loss of value, everything.

I'm gonna tl;dr it for you: if you cannot afford a taxi/uber/whatever even once, you cannot afford a car. There, that was easy, wasn't it?

I ruled a bike out as an option as I CANNOT take a bike onto a school bus, so I can get to school.

I thought the printer was just 3 miles away? Did it ever occur to you you could have just gone home, pick up the cargo bike, ride the 3 miles to the printer which literally takes 10 minutes and pick it up?

Because you were wishing for a car but ruled out a bike as an option? 🤪

Good grief...

Shoe production has a non-zero carbon footprint, especially with the vast majority of shoes being a "single use" product (i.e. not resoleable) and with a very limited amount of miles

What’s „unhelpfully pedantic“ about a correct answer that explains OPs misconception? 🤡

The person above said hair doesn’t stop growing. That’s wrong. It does. It grows, then it stops growing, then the dead hair falls out. Why does it know when to fall out? Because it’s dead, Jim.

OPs question was why the hair on their head grows longer. Answer: because it’s growing cycles are longer.

I’d say you’re unhelpfully pedantic telling other people giving helpful and correct explanations they’re „unhelpfully pedantic“.

and to really send it all home to you, eventually when the sun turns into a red giant it will consume the earth wiping out all of human history or anything you might have “left behind.”

Wait, why stop here? After that, the universe will continue to expand and get colder until the Big Freeze.

Be happy you can actually see the universe. Some aliens in a distant future might never be aware that there’s something else, because light will be shifted so far it’s impossible to understand. There will be less and less stars anyway, so it’s going to be a lot darker.

Maybe protons aren’t actually stable and they will break apart too, at some point, and then the last thing will be black holes slowly dissolving due to Hawking radiation.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like anything, since it’s just now in phase 1 trials, so nobody knows.

But if it does what it says, then yes, it might actually be part of a cure.

And I don’t know if you’re aware of it, as of now we don’t have a cure for cancer: https://xkcd.com/931/

You can look up the average treatment cost today, it’s something like $150000, good for your that you already know the price of this pill and that it’s big pharma‘s wet dream.

Compared to other countries, yes. And that’s not even comparing it to the US, which would be like kicking someone lying on the ground.

Try riding a train in rural France, outside the 5 TGV lines, for instance, and you’ll pray for Deutsche Bahn. Ever been to the UK?

But we could have much better PT if Germany weren’t the world’s greatest car exporter by far and the ministry of traffic deep in the pockets of automobile makers, that’s true as well.

Sure, the chinese are just copying everything, they don’t research and develop new technologies. Mhm. Your 1980s racism needs an update.
