Monero is cool but people avoiding crypto unfortunately.

I try to be as anonymous as possible. Therefore, it is not possible to apply to Onlyfans as a legal entity or anonymous person unfortunately :/

For a few months I was just on the technical and moderation side and things were simple. @gavi was handling the management well but left. You know, everything is fine in the beginning when it comes to hobby work. However, as you progress and other work gets in the way, it gets a little overwhelming. I believe we experienced this here.

The down vote issue is really complicated. Can't comment for now.

For new UI; rather than replacing existing UIs, we trying to create an alternative for consuming visual content. We plan to have a structure similar to scrolller.com in the final product.

I’ll add buffer for that if it gets accepted.

No. You can check previous announcement for the reasons.

I'm not able to explain here that we disabled downvotes not for algorithmic reasons like TikTok, Twitter, etc; but to protect posters. It is also funny that people who do not share any content make this criticism.

Yes, unfortunately most of them but I think they’ll be compatible in 2-3 weeks.

You are right. I’m not familiar with these sites too and discussing with other admins. For example @MikeyMongol@lemmynsfw.com has experience in this area, hes helping a lot. We’ll find a trustable platform hopefully. Onlyfans, Fansly are known, trusted platforms but they mostly focused on “fan” stuff so I’m not sure.

I'll add first and second one should be fixed by now 🫡

Almost half of the supporters donating from crypto, so I don't think its unnecessary.

Thank you for your opinion! I would like to do this too but we don't use single payment method. Also does Open Collective approve payments or should we trust the admin for this? And do admins attach bills somewhere?

If a moderator is not active or banned, you can request to be a mod for that community. Just check community rules before posting.

I decided not to remove the old mod. What do you think about it? I believe I shouldn't do this, but I would still like to hear your opinion. Is it unfair to remove that mod if inactive for a week?

Also; @Solaire@lemmynsfw.com is banned and s/he has so many communities. I can appoint if there are some volunteers.

note: bottomless and lesbians communities are reserved for now.

We don't want to overmoderate, but we have to add some rules for ease of moderation and cooperation with other instances in the federation.

  • 1. Non-flagged NSFW posts: Although we already had a rule about it, we were applying it a little more flexibly. From now on, posts that are not properly flagged as NSFW will be deleted without notice.

  • 2. NSFW community icons: As NSFW status can be added to communities, we think that hiding/blurring community icons is the responsibility of clients like Mlem, Jerboa or Lemmy-UI. That's why NSFW community icons are allowed.

  • 3. NSFW user avatars: Unlike community icons, users do not have an NSFW status. For this reason, NSFW user icons are banned. This rule may change as a result of improvements in Lemmy.

In order to apply the 3rd rule, the user will be informed first. Any post or comment made afterward may result in a ban due to non-compliance with the rule.

Lemmy NSFW is back (lemmynsfw.com)

I'm not sure how long it took, but for a while the instance had crashed. For some reason the Lemmy photo upload service took up 150GB of free space and hence the server crashed because of it. I'm not sure about the possibility of recurrence as I don't know the exact reason.

For this reason, you can follow our Mastodon account, which I have just opened, to follow or report possible crashes.

You can now turn on/off the following options:
  • Blur NSFW images
  • Blur NSFW community avatars (in list)
  • Auto expand images

You can find it in the "Local Settings" section in the settings. If you are on mobile, you have to scroll down from the settings block. Also you may need to clear caches.

Note:

These options are kept on the device and are not synchronized between devices.

https://lemmyverse.net/communities (check "show nsfw" option)

Now that we have a list, there is no need to enter it manually. Thanks for what you've sent so far.

In this instance, should we ban NSFL, hardcore gore content? I think it's not a problem since anyone can subscribe to the community they want but if the vast majority don't want it, we can ban it. Decisions must be made from the beginning.

Here's a StrawPoll link.

Edit: Looks like we are going to ban it. Commenters are right that we cannot currently list NSFW and NSFL content separately on the homepage. Since anyone can open an instance, we should let other people to open an instance on lemmynsfl.com. Also moderating these communities can be hard too. So it's okay.
