They have to hold on to power because giving it up is too dangerous

Every fascist regime is one that is always in crisis.

He doesn't need to switch parties though, the leadership is on board with throwing trans women under the bus and approving GOP spending bills.

I mean it depends on the context of how UBI is going to get paid for. If it is funded by a wealth tax then I am on board. But that's not how the powerful proponents of UBI say it should be funded. Andrew Yang would have us take it out of Social Security to pay for it but you don't hear him say we should uncap Social Security contributions.

Seems I guessed that right from the headline. There's plenty to shit on, like their soldiers being sent to the Ukrainian meat grinder. But when you see "country bans cheap food" or "country requires kim jong haircuts for everyone", don't be gullible.

You know what else is legal? Denying healthcare claims automatically. When the laws stop serving the people, don't expect people to follow them out of the goodness of their hearts.

Seriously good read on what to do next: https://wagingnonviolence.org/2024/11/10-things-to-do-if-trump-wins/

The fascist power structure is unjust and so it is like an upsidedown pyramid being propped up by pillars: people who do the actual work are the pillars. This pyramid topples when those pillars are removed. This can be a workers' strike in a certain sector (example given was the eastern shoremen refusing to load weapons for a war).

I'm also struck by how the article says to handle fear. We need to act as community and flip the script on their fear tactics.

The author of the article also has an interesting interview with Sam Seder where they talk about more historical examples: https://youtu.be/YLBM2SEL6Rc

I wanna punch the voice that says "but won't the homeless sleep in the bushes?"

Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was among those injured by the pager explosions on Tuesday, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported.

Attacking ambassadors is a great way to become an international piriah.

They knew the people paying them worked from a Russian timezone, they actually put it in an email.

Those suggesting other candidates should probably address the three issues AOC brought up:

  • Endorsements doesn't transfer
  • Campaign contributions doesn't transfer
  • Possible state level shenanigans by GOP to keep candidates chosen after some technicality off ballot

None of these issues exist if Biden simply steps down.
