Nikki Haley's pitch is that she can beat Joe Biden. But now that she's lost — twice — voters are signaling they aren't concerned about electability as much as a candidate that shares their values.

Just a few years ago, Stefanik was rated the 13th most bipartisan House member. She also differed from Trump on several key issues — but times have changed.

Most of the country's other big unions endorsed President Biden in the earliest days of his reelection campaign. But the United Auto Workers held back until today.

Canadian organizations representing Jewish, Muslim and Palestinian communities, along with anti-racism activists, have joined forces to condemn the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) for allegedly instructing its employees to surveil and report Ontario school students for criticizing Israel.

A CBC News report published last month quoted two FSWC employees who said that the centre’s educators were instructed to report students who made comments critical of Israel, or references to the genocide and occupation of Palestinians, to the organization.

The whistleblowers, who were kept anonymous, told CBC: “The idea is to contact the school, inform the school they have an antisemitism problem and pressure the school to shut down the Palestinian support [by] accusing them of antisemitism, encouraging more pro-Zionist workshops or lessons.”

Apparently, Charlie Kirk wants to start a campaign against the Civil Rights Act and MLK?

I think this is why we need to guard against the ultra-right.

There's the right-wing and then there's the ultra-right.

This is a new low, however, and it portents bad changes in the body politic of the United States.

It seems they even want to do away with these concessions as well, that was fought for by the working-class.

A Jan. 6 defendant, in opening arguments at his trial before a jury on Wednesday, compared himself to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and said that he liked that members of Congress were fearing for their lives during the Capitol attack.

Brandon Fellows was initially arrested 10 days after the Capitol riot in January 2021. He first faced misdemeanor charges, but was later indicted on a felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting.

Fellows had been held in pretrial custody since mid-2021. He was detained because while he was on pretrial release in his Jan. 6 case, he called the mother of his probation officer and also reportedly harassed a former girlfriend, in violation of a state protection order. In recent court filings, he called U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden corrupt and biased.

Monday night, "The Beat with Ari Melber" on MSNBC rolled out another set of intriguing videos from "A Storm Foretold," a Danish documentary that follows Donald Trump's close aide and friend Roger Stone, both during the election and through the insurrection of January 6, 2021. Stone is an intriguing character in Trump's plot to overthrow democracy, especially as he's closely connected with the leaders of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers. He maintained a group chat called "Friends of Stone," in which many now-convicted insurrection leaders — recently found guilty of leading the Capitol riot, often under severe "seditious conspiracy" charges — kept in communication.

The documentary isn't available in the U.S. and the tapes have not been turned over to American law enforcement, because director Christoffer Guldbrandsen feels it violates journalistic ethics to do so. (Don't be hard on the guy, who was so devoted to this project that he ended up having a heart attack from the stress.) Last week, Melber's show released a video showing Stone detailing the fake electors scheme to his lackeys on November 5, 2020 — before the major news networks called the election. That proves, yet again, that the coup plan predates the election and was not, as Trump apologists claim, merely a reaction to a "sincere" belief that the election was stolen.

Russian state media reported on Wednesday that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner mercenary group who led an aborted mutiny in June, was listed as a passenger on a jet that crashed north of Moscow.

NBC News was not able to confirm the news.

Russia’s main federal investigating authority has said all 10 people on the Embraer Legacy plane that went down north of Moscow were likely dead.

“A business jet en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed in the Tver region. Ten people on board were killed, according to preliminary information,” the Investigating Committee said in a Telegram post.
