A place to discuss privacy and freedom in the digital world.
Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience
- Be nice :)

I bought everyone in my family a drink to get them to use Signal. Worked great and we're still on it.
Don't bother trying to sell people on privacy etc, for the most part. Show them Giphy integration, stickers, Stories, etc and show them that it's fun. Signal has done great work there, in making it "noob-friendly"
The number of times my family complains about signal not having polls…
I mean, you can make an ersatz poll by using emoji reactions
Yeah that’s what we do but it pales in comparison to FB Messenger’s polling system, apparently.
Seems like a lot of people want that too, so hopefully they'll add it soon
I wish it had tenor instead. Giphy seems to really lack content, I never find what I’m searching for
