Most of us migrated to bluesky early on. Like, part of the reason why bluesky blew up was because invite codes spread like wildfire through the furry community.

Interesting! I actually didn’t know the previous state—I am simply just aware that furry Twitter is still huge currently, despite the transition.

Do you think there is hope for a second wave? Or are the laggards beyond hope, from your perspective?

Eh, a lot of them are probably mirroring their posts to Twitter. They'll probably be there until someone forces them off. The ones who haven't migrated or started to migrating are kinda probably "beyond hope".

Y'all we need to make invite codes on mastodon and people might actually join and use it.

[-] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 1 points 2 months ago

You just need to make it easier to use. I considered mastodon early on, but everyone moved to bluesky because it was simple, easy, and basically just like Twitter with the promise of using a federated protocol sometime in the future. So that's where I ended up. Not that I use microblogging sites very much, but that's why I have a bluesky account and not a mastodon one.

I legit can't tell if this is a meme or not.

Nope, I knew people who complained about how they couldn't find each other on mastodon. Y'all severely overestimate how much effort people want to put into their social networks. Most people have way higher priorities. If you can trip over the bar, then the bar is too high.

Sound like I like social networks with some kind of awareness of the world.

Nah, you just like social networks where the software itself is a hobby; and that's okay! Nothing wrong with that. You just gotta remember that for most people, a social network is there for people to socialize. If you're having to do non-social tasks for your social network to function, then you're not gonna get wide adoption.

An extremely simple to use website front end is not "software itself a hobby"
