I think it's changing with time. The younger generation seems to see through the bullshit of the western-bootlicking gulf states. Shia's have been the only ones to come to our defense at all. The king of Jordan, whose country is 60% Palestinian is still a bootlicking piece of shit.
I'll definitely say that it's generational. I organize with Sunnis pretty often in regards to Palestine at our university, and we have no conflicts. In fact that's the main reason I'm still hopeful for the future, because I've met some of the best people in my life during this organizing period.
