And geographic disparities have widened along similar lines, with places ranging from San Francisco to Boston seeing big jumps in income and prosperity, but places ranging from Youngstown, Ohio, to Port Arthur, Texas, falling further behind.

While it’s true that tech cluster MSAs have seen a disproportionate growth in income, it’s also true cost of living in those “advantaged” areas has exploded. Source: I live in one, and holy fuck it’s absurd how much of my money goes towards basic expenses.
