Not only is fallacy reffing stupid, it's not even an example of ad hominem, it's just an insult.

It seems you're right, this behavior is of lower quality than even abusive ad hominem, and probably just fits in the "name calling" base of the hierarchy. Lowest of the low. There's a lot of examples of such behavior in this thread.
