Banned for calling out a Zionist
(lemmy.world)
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
All posts should follow this basic structure:
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.
Relevant comms
Accusing someone of being a Zionist when no Zionist issue has been brought up is often a sign of a right-wing lunatic. Without the comment having some connection to Zionism, you cannot expect the mods to have the same full list of user histories that you do. You had the full context of the user's history - the mods likely did not. BPR.
It’s a sign of antisemitism. That’s not confined to the right-Wing, but widespread across the political spectrum.
It's downright common in some communities
Im not sure it is a right-wing thing. It's just lunacy
Again, the REASON given, makes zero sense. the PARENT comment of this comment thread is in support of Ukraine and the topic at hand.
And I would argue that yes, is IS the job of a mod to actually do some homework before rendering a ban.
Man, a few of us are terminally online, but most mods are doing this as a part-time service during their recreation time. Not everyone has the time. You want the mods to know something, you have to tell them.
All I can say is maybe don't be a mod of a very important community like the Ukraine Comm if you don't have time to take it seriously ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Bruh, we're putting in what we can. We're unpaid volunteers on a small site of Reddit exiles.
