Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.
Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

Lol, the .ml tankies favorite rebuttal when you bring up their bans/censorship is that "only bigots get banned, we totally welcome debate as long as you're not being bigoted!"
So I try to capture the full context to dispel that

If you ever want a mindfuck, take a look at any kind of impassioned political discussion on some instance outside of lemmy.ml, and then the exact same comment thread as it appears hosted on Hexbear or lemmy.ml. A lot of times it will look dramatically different. It's really remarkable how distorted a view of reality they're able to create for their users. There looks like there's this universal consensus on the tankie viewpoint, with maybe a couple of shouty outliers who don't make any sense trying to disagree with it.
If you look from outside, they're just making a joke of their instance, but if you look from the POV of the users, the result is a perfectly seamless excising of certain parts of reality for about 95% of what they see. The visible results of someone getting banned and their comments removed fall in this incredibly rare 5% of times or less. The fucked-up thing is it works. That's why they will swear that all debate is allowed and they're perfectly open to challenge. I think a lot of the users who are living in the censored environment really believe that that is true.
I am not surprised at all lmao, of all the efforts davel et all put in to making their instance so censored I'm honestly shocked they haven't started fucking around with their side of the modlog or what it sends out for federation. I heard rumors they were a while back, but I wasn't able to confirm it
But yea, that's why I advocate not going off the handle like a certain other user around here because you don't know which tankies are just being manipulated and which ones are actually pulling the strings
