Your problem is with capitalism, not landlords.
The landlord would be the capitalist in this scenario, no?
Everyone is, some are just in better positions than others.
To me, this very much seems like a "don't hate the player, hate the game" type of situation. It's like companies not paying their "fair" share of taxes - they're just following the laws. It's up to us to change them if we don't like it, just like the issue of having soulless corporations as landlords.
