i updated my email address in my efforts to de-google myself and i got the email asking to confirm my new email address; but when i do it it just hangs.

how can i find out if my new email address took?

Unfortunately I haven’t answered your original question. I don’t sysadmin lemmy.ml so I’m not in a position to.
