Stop listening to his words and report what's actually happening, news media
He's the president of the most powerful country on earth. When his words are "I'm seeking a dictatorship" they are news.
he did literally get elected on the promise of being a dictator
Got elected with a promise of being a dictator on the side. Not on the promise of being it. He got elected on the promise of abusing immigrants.
No, he literally said he'd be a dictator on day one. He was very up front about it, and his base cheered him on

Of course, that's not what actually happened, and it was obvious that was never what was going to happen, but it wasn't a "from day 1" as in a i'll always be a dictator.
