I heard it's stuck in development hell because the studio is unhappy with the current script, which is regarded by Gibson to be divinely inspired.
it was authored by Mel's brother, Oscar Gibson, and it's 3 pages of exposition while Jesus (Jim Caviezel) "reveals" the "Holocaust never happened".
I look forward to the ADL defending it by saying it's too vague to know if it's antisemitism or not.
