Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).

I do, Im actually pretty critical of AI, both the flood of AI slop on social media and the more pressing issues with the ethics of AI, hell I even did my 2 year term on the ethics board at my company. If you want to have an actual conversation with me about the ethics of AI instead of calling me a fascist, you would find we probably agree on quite a lot, not everything certainly, but a lot.
This whole argument is because I dont think being smug, condescending and insulting to people that use generative AI is going to do anything to make AI go away. And because Im not rabidly anti-AI you've shoehorned me into your black and white view of the issue and come to the conclusion that im 100% extremely pro-AI.
All of those people also push social media very hard. But its also a tool that lets leftist organise, allows communities to form and people to form friendships, and has enabled marginalised people to come together and make their lives better. Just because bad people support something and there are issues with it, does not mean its inherently bad, just like GenAI. I know disabled people that literally weeped with joy when I introduced them to generative AI because they could now turn ideas in their head into reality in ways they physically could not do before. I have a friend who is an aspiring game dev, thats been able to use AI generation to help him make assets for his game, where before he would have to devote years of his life to learning a new skill to make art of a similar level or spend money he simply doesnt have to have another artist do it for him. when I hang around with my nephew I can take a photo of him and make it into Marvel or Harry Potter style and see the utter joy that it brings him.
If you want to keep seeing this as a purely black and white issue, where you are the good guy and anyone who disagrees with you is a literal Nazi, then obviously nothing I can say will change your mind. But if you do legitimately see yourself as a rational and intelligent person, you will see that generative AI is not inherently bad, and that comics like the OP and the general trend of just insulting and belittling people that use AI, only serves to obfuscate the actual arguments and make people view the anti-AI crowd as a bunch of elitist luddites.
Yes, i am the mad one and keyboard warrior. Glad i wrote a wall of text. I should just input your junk into AI and get them to write me a response but i do have standards.

I'll give you a bit of my good faith. Look up wise crack's video on AI that came out recently, the one about the Ghibli art. That'll sum up my feelings well. I am not going to waste my time otherwise who wall of texts me pretending to be some champion of human rights and antifascist by supporting GAI
