The RCMP plans to launch a direct recruitment stream for people who want to work in federal policing, one that would send them through a specialized training program and skip the 26 weeks' instruction at the depot.

So our cops are going to get even less training now?

It takes EIGHT YEARS of training just argue about the law in a court room, but six short months and you can go out and enforce the law with deadly weaponry.

It's only for the Federal side, "which investigates terrorism and other threats to national security, along with high-level organized crime and cybercrime"

These are computer detectives, not uniforms with a gun.
