Liberals will throw people acting a fool out without a moment's hesitation, hell they'll throw themselves out for disgracing their peers.

Remember Al Franken who stepped out of Congress because of a picture of a crass joke vs the current 'grab em by' prez on tape who all but made it a slogan to promote himself as being a big macho dude.

Al Franken is accused of more than just posing for a crass joke picture:

In the days that followed, seven additional women came forward with allegations of inappropriate behavior during photo ops. Lindsay Menz accused Franken of touching her clothed "upper" buttocks while they posed for a photo at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010. Two anonymous women made similar complaints related to events during political events. Franken apologized, saying, "I've met tens of thousands of people and taken thousands of photographs, often in crowded and chaotic situations. I'm a warm person; I hug people. I've learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters, I crossed a line for some women—and I know that any number is too many." Another anonymous woman said that after she was a guest on Franken's radio show in 2006, Franken leaned in toward her face during a handshake and gave her "a wet, open-mouthed kiss" on the cheek when she turned her face aside. The same day, Stephanie Kemplin, an army veteran, told CNN that Franken held the side of her breast for 5 to 10 seconds "and never moved his hand" while posing for a photograph with her during a 2003 USO tour in Iraq.

You're right that what Al Franken did pales in comparison to what Trump did and continues to do.

Similarly, my comment's criticism of liberals pales in comparison to OP's meme's criticism of conservatives.

The point of my comment is that even the minor infractions ought to be challenged and turned into a learning experience if we are ever going to be able to construct a coalition capable of taking on the fascists, which you seem to have missed by implying that Al Franken's behaviour should not have been challenged.

One thing I will give Al Franken is that he admitted to his faults and tried to atone, which is better than I can say about the liberals in my life. One thing I'll give to your comment is that someone willing and able to learn and grow should not be permanently removed from the fight if we want to keep our numbers up and maintain a healthy antifascist coalition.

I hadn't made any implication that he shouldn't be challenged, unlike some he took a largely proactive route to apologize and resign without a big fuss so there wasn't much need to push or challenge.

The overarching premise is that while conservatives obstruct and defend their behavior as 'no big deal' liberals are much more likely to say go ahead and put them on trial if their own fuck up. Consider the charges for the last 3 presidents impeached, there are 2 Republicans acting in a outright criminal fashion to use their office for personal gain, and one Democrat who got a BJ. The type and scale of crimes against the public is pretty heavily weighted in one direction.

The big challenge with a leftist/liberal alliance to work against the would-be dictators come at least in part to the method and level of moral compliance demanded. To take some from the other comment I saw, Al was accused by several women of various things, probably the most egregious mentioned as having his hand on the side of someone's breast during a photo. There are far too many hard line leftists who would have someone blacklisted as no better than a maga supporter for that, or at least their online personas would, for something that could have legitimately been an inadvertent error and putting it in the same basket as the current admin.
