Well, the article didn’t publish the pictures so we can’t really tell. But in general, “pictures of a sexual nature” is not something you want your security chief to have ‘out there’ such that they could be compromised.
Like a pee tape, for example.
It only matters if he's ashamed of it. If he owns it, then it can't be used against him.
That’s my read. I have no idea why this isn’t more common.
“Yeah, I’m a freak. Yeah, I like to have a burly man do things to me that make most people curl up in fear. That’s just who I am. Now let’s talk about [REDACTED].”
Apparently you can just say “nuh uh!” and people will buy it
I think we already have the answer to that, yeah?
If he doesn't give a flying fuck about it, there isn't any option for blackmail.
Well, that’s certainly one way to look at it.
I guess he didn't disclose it in a security review, so he failed to execute the "fly your freak flag high" part.
But if they own it, it can't be used as extortion/blackmail?
Who the fuck cares that they had a dating profile with sexy pictures?!
Edit:
I guess it's because he was a high profile security person that didn't disclose a social account, and pictures from that account were released.
...
Oh, so the whole Grindr/gay thing doesn't actually matter. The guy disclosed sensitive info to foreign powers.
Further edit:
Seems like a double whammy article...
Hate on Sweden for seemingly forcing out a gay person.
Hate on government person cause he used Grindr.
Seems like the dude leaked info he shouldn't have?
These are not the same person. Thyberg resigned over Grindr photos, while Landerholm left classified documents unguarded.
