these are really abstract concepts that have no material basis in reality, what you're really asking is: "is the dictatorship of the sword by capital (democracy™) preferred to the dictatorship of the sword by the people (authoritarianism)?", in which i much prefer the latter.
people being able to put a ballot in a box =/= people having power
