As a Microsoft employee myself. This is the first our CEO has shown his face since the last time when two MS workers interrupted his talk a few months ago. They followed up by cancelling public appearances and most company events until now. Especially, related to AI. And this isn't really public. Tickets for this were $1500. Glad to see more of my coworkers speak up. It's insane how quickly they pulled him out of there.
If anyone wants to know more check out No Azure for Apartheid on Twitter. They have a link tree for more resources for getting involved as an employee.
One of the things you can do is "donate your resignation" which is essentially what this guy did. For anyone that wants to leave this genocide supporting company we encourage they don't go silently. But that doesn't have to be a public display as high profile as this either. Can be as simple as an email to your local team groups to cause disruption.
Learning from this. I think I'd zip tie myself to something before I start yelling. At least force that piece of shit to acknowledge my presence.
Maybe you guys will see me on here next. Though I'm already in hot water with my managers right now and may lose my badge before another event like this.
Edit: They also instantly wiped this guy from Microsoft emails and chats. Definitely was either fired right away or blacklisted.
Good luck dude!
Thanks. I'm not a courageous person. But I am 235lbs and 6'2". If I get the chance I'll do my best to plant my feet.
