Neither democrats nor republicans are willing to prosecute, so the law is meaningless.

I'm not sure about Republicans.
You think republicans are gonna prosecute biden while trump is doing the same thing? You think they're gonna set that precedent? they just got scotus to rule that the president is above the law.
Congressional ones who have little hope in becoming President might. Also many are hypocrites.
Didn't SCOTUS did that by themselves—I suppose to reward Trump for choosing them.
So why would the trump administration's DoJ seek to curtail it?
Presumably they wouldn't curtail it for Trump, but they might for Biden.
