I'm starting to think I may have ADHD because there's so many symptoms I relate to... But people around me including my parents just tell me I'm just energetic.
Is there a test I can take maybe?
It is like pooping: everyone does it, and everyone will sometimes experience diarrhoea and constipation. There may be days where you have to go twice because your stomach does not like you some time.
But if I have to go to shit like 3 times a day every day, fighting against your rumbling cramping stomach because every time it is just watery deadly sewer pipe corroding stuff coming out of you, you should see a doctor.
It is about frequency and amplitude of your symptoms. But there are also a lot of other syndroms and illnesses that may cause your issues. And never forget:
A man can have as many diseases as he damn well pleases.
So keep in mind that having ADS does not mean there are no other conditions. There is actually a higher possibility to have something else as well (Comorbidity)
This is how I got diagnosed at 38 and 4 years later my life is unrecognisable I went from having no less than 60 dead end jobs where I would just quit on a whim, be unable to get out of bed and just not turn up and get fired or not taking shit from some cunt paid 10p an hour more than me to talk to me j like shit. I’m replaceable but the company got a dead end job replaceable.
I got lucky and was hired at Apple in the UK and worked the Genius Bar and they had healthcare, as mental health care is lacking here. With this healthcare and being surrounded by talented people and always seeing all these relatable memes lead me to seek a diagnosis. And I’m now a software developer for a great small company that treats us like people.
I’m not perfect and the medication wrecks me so don’t take it often, but just knowing you’re not broken means a lot and routine can be worked on and you can get coping strategies.
So yes there are tests you can do but I would seek a professional to help with this. As an example of what to expect, they ask a lot about your schooling and jobs you’ve had etc.
The thing that was shocking for me is that ADHD people will develop coping strategies and you don’t even realise. Like I didn’t think I was hyperactive, but they have a test for that that watched your eyes and I scored hella high on that. My coping strategy for fidgeting is to sit on cursors like a lunatic, feet are not on the floor. I’m sat on one foot with my other foot resting on the seat kinda with my knee coming up near my face 😂. This is a hard habit to break and hell for your back.
Go for it dude you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
If you want to ask specific questions, as I’m conscious this is just a stream of thought, hmu I got you.
My parents insisted I didn’t have ADHD as a kid because I had the same symptoms they had as kids and their parents just told them it was normal. Turns out ADHD has a genetic component and this is pretty common. You can find screeners online, but your best bet is to just get tested by a psychiatrist specifically. They’re the ones who can diagnose you and prescribe you proper medication. If you’re underage, this will likely require a hard conversation with your parents and if you’re in the US at least, you may need a referral from your primary care provider.
A psychiatrist will rule out differential diagnoses (things that present similarly and could explain your symptoms for other reasons) and they’ll also screen for comorbidities (other disorders you may have on top of ADHD) that could be made worse with front line ADHD medications.

Talk to a psychologist, they can diagnose properly. I just got diagnosed myself although I'm anything but energetic.
Weirdly enough I'm relating to these memes way more than I expected to.
ADHD includes a lot of common traits, but amplified to the point of being a disorder.
So you may or may not have ADHD and there is a test to confirm.
You need to see a medical professional, some online test without professional interpretation isn't going to cut it.

This is how it happened for me! I related to nearly all of the memes, until finally A friend suggested I check with a psychologist. She was right.
