Theme justification: The Fanzine Saponifications soap is easily the smallest batch that I own. Really nice soap from our very own u/TheStallionPartThree. I'd say this second iteration of the base has better slickness and glide. Great stuff.
I also went with a RDC handle from the first or second drop from u/Priusaurus. It's one of my favorite handles. Finished the shave off with the sub-exclusive Seaforth! Leather splash and Polyphemus from GLHF Workshop (the early work of fragrance influencer u/pridetwo).
Also, my Moarteen is 1/50. Today was my 8th shave with the razor (and 8th shave with any straight razor), and it went swimmingly. I'm finally developing a system for approaching my face that seems to work for me.
Daily challenge: I usually face lather. I have a dedicated shave bowl, but it's mostly used for starting the lather for smushes and samples. So, for today's challenge I did my entire lather in the bowl. It was fine. Maybe it helped me be more precise with soap hydration? Either way, I'm not a convert. I'll stick to face lathering thank you very much.

The soap: Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Lavender, and Sweet Orange.
The splash: Leather, Cedar, Bergamot, Coriander, West Indies Bay, Musk
The fragrance: Bergamot, Lemon, Lavender, Jasmine Sambac, Cinnamon, Honey, Cashmere, Tobacco Leaf, Tonka Beans, and Vanilla.
The coriander, bergamot, and bay in the splash dance wonderfully with the smooth orange and sandalwood from the soap. Relaxing, comforting, and oh so smooth. This all slides into the honey, tobacco, tonka bean, and vanilla from the frag (a Xerjoff Naxos dupe). The progression is one of comfort and class. Very happy with this one.
$SELFCARE - even though I didn't want to, today I spent several hours today catching up on chores around our apartment. It's easy for things to slip when weeks get busy and my wife and I are both running on fumes. It's still important though to make time to care for your space. It's hard to feel good mentally when your physical space is a mess!
