well they USAF has relocated quite a few logistic suport aircraft from the US to the middle east, and they are pulling forces out of the south china sea to the middle east. It is looking likely that they will change focus to this new shiney thing, especialy given they have hated Iran ever sense the Sha left

It is looking very likely that the US is going to enter the war at this point.

my biggest worry right now is I cannot think of any country that both can aid iran at the moment and is willing. I will admit my regional knolege of the politic of the middle east is not amazing, and has been streched to its limit, but from my limited understanding I am worried Iran is going to be left to go this alone

It's worth noting that Iran absolutely does get support from both Russia and China. There's even a direct rail line going from China through Russia to Iran now. Iran is also a country of 90 million people, with a strong industrial base, its own energy, and food security. It's not really clear to me how the US plans to invade Iran to be honest. The logistics situation is very much stacked against them, and Iran has advanced weapons that can take out US assets like carriers and destroy their bases in the region. Short of going nuclear, Israel and the US will lose this war.

I do not doubt there will be some aid from China, my worry was that Russia is too tied up to provide aid.

That being said now that Pakistan extended their nuclear umbrella I am less concerned about a nuclear war, before then I was quite concered either the US or Israel would use nukes.

Oh did Pakistan actually say that Iran is under their nuclear umbrella now? Last I saw they pledged support for Iran, but didn't really specify the details.

Never mind, I found it on the mega thread, and ICBM mentioned that Pakistan has said it was not true, so nukes are still on the table. I should have waited to independently verify

In the defence of the comrade, Iran said it happened and the only sources I can find where pakistan said they did not are US or Indian, but unless I find a nutural source saying its been extended I will assume it has not

There's a lot of stuff happening all at once, and it's hard to keep up with what's actually been verified or not. I really hope the US is not crazy enough to nuke Iran, but at this point it's hard to rule anything out.

It is very likely that China is already helping Iran in the sidelines. Iran is crucial for the belt and road initiative. Iran's missiles require satellite communication for coordination and Iran does not have those capabilities. Also in regards to electronic warfare, Iran is not as capable as other more powerful nations. It's very likely that China and Russia are supporting Iran in that regard.

Pakistan may also act as China's proxy. There are Shia militias both in Afghanistan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia who are willing to help Iran in case the war gets into the ground. And Iran also has allies in Ansar Allah and Hezbollah (who have a presence both in Qatar and Lebanon). So there's a coalition working in the shadows but ready to set foot in the ground to aid Iran in this war.

Too bad it is in Portuguese.

There are reports of military transfers from China to Iran already. It would obviously be a huge disaster for both Russia and China if Iran was destroyed by the US. I think they will provide as much support as they're able here.
