when he said "Don't tread on me" he was referring to his right to remain an enslaver. it's impossible to misappropriate a libertarianism like his that at the same time as advocating for autonomy, also believes in bondage.
if all libertarians were anti-state, anti-hierarchy and anti-capitalist (none of which hold true for him) the anarcho-capitalists would stop being associated with libertarianism. those are the people being made fun of in the picture.
