Why is he doing cubism. Of all the art syles. Cubism is all about showing multiple perspectives of the subject. You disassemble the subject and reassemble them in a way where you show them from multiple angles, features are shown in the ideal angle deliberately even if it does not fit within the prescribed norm of depicting a person. That's the opposite of his thought process, and you can kinda see him struggling with that since most of the repetitive features are just repeated for the sake of "genre convention". But the glass textured translucent subject is a nice touch to a cubist art style.

Honestly if he paints like this and was rejected from art school that school fucked up. I've seen worse art on a technical levek hanging in galleries.
