I think it's less that and more the conservative financial angle. If somebody told him the Republican party would be cheering a plan that adds $3 to $6 trillion in debt, he'd be apoplectic, if he didn't just outright die on the spot.

Those kinds of numbers would be just alien to his generation of conservatives.
