It would be cool if we normalized the arrest of our leaders. That is one aspect of occupied Korea that I envy. Four of their last seven(!) presidents have been imprisoned. Two were actually sentenced to death but later commuted to life sentences. Trump has a list of convictions a mile long and never even saw the inside of a jail cell because we're afraid of holding our ruling class accountable.
The reason South Korean presidents could be arrested is that they are much closer to colonial governors than to national leaders.
I think a few of the others were also forced to resign in disgrace. They really have an astonishing record of giving someone high office and then they become a pariah.
