Must be nice to be of the ownership/wealthy classes and be able to move away from the fascists during their rise to power. The rest of us will have to do our best to remember our own humanity while we watch people become nazis and trade their humanity away before the leopards eat their faces.

Yup fuck these richies that flee with their money they made from being the spokespersons of the minority class they represent. They should stay and help fund the resistance but instead they say FYIGM.

I've seen a lot of comments on the Fediverse about people who have moved or aspire to move from red states to blue states. I hope they get the same level of vitriol in the future, just to keep things consistent.

if they are mega-millionaires and make it known, then absolutely they will. You might take notice how the average scholars, MD's, and PHD's that are also fleeing aren't getting such hate.

Former moderator FlyingSquid moved to the UK from the US to protect a transgender child. I hadn't thought about it before now, but he must be part of the Ownership class.

ellen certainly can. ellen is not working class.

~~Her money came from working, not ownership, inheritance, or management. She's rich, but still working class.~~

Correction: Between the record company and "ED by Ellen" brand, she's been a member of the capitalist class since at least 2010

From what little interaction I had with FlyingSquid, it seemed like his family was very working class and the move to the UK took a lot of sacrifice.

Ellen on the other hand has a net worth in the hundreds of millions and thus was never in any real danger in the US because of her sexuality.

oh, wow. I thought they were still in Terre Haute. Good for them, though I don't understand what's so attractive about the U.K.

He had enough British ancestry that he was able to get a citizenship (or already had dual citizenship? I dunno). Think that was the only reason for choosing the UK in particular over any other European country.
