the us tried to coup us recently, most of the directly involved are being tried. even bolsonaro is getting arrested soon.
that's not to say we are now free from another attempt because our military is still powerful and just as treacherous, but we are doing what we can be doing about it atm and lula's stern attitude towards the us lately is encouraging.
Actually prosecuting the perpetrators rather than giving olive-branch after olive-branch like Biden did seems far more effective at reducing the risk of another coup (or electoral comeback based on claims the courts are being weaponized since they're no conviction to point at).
yeah, they will make those claims anyway though so might as well just let the judges do their work for a change.
but also, it would be far too shameful for them at this point to just let the incompetent bolsonarist uprising slide. the fascists sounded like they barely had an idea of what they were getting into, it was way too dumb and shameless. they've been given an olive branch and were too stupid to take it before they doubled down and it got this bad.
