If this theory were true than Biden would have released the Epstein files. Both parties are complicit.

[-] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 22 points 2 weeks ago

I'm not sure about that. If Biden had released them, they would have been able to spin it as them being 'doctored' or other bullshit. Honestly, there were ways to release them, at least partially, in a way that both appeased his base and covered his ass. Instead, they decided to make themselves look guilty AF with the "take the claw in the face, roll around on the ground, and die" strategy.

So fucking what? When you know trump is going to release it edited, as it seems like he’s already in the process of doing, which was obvious to anybody with a brain during the election, why the fuck wouldn’t you preemptively release them? I mean besides the obvious reason, what could possibly be the logic here? Unless the argument is that it’s pure stupidity, which comes with its own issues therein of itself.

The list undoubtedly contains major political donors along with politicians on both sides. The donors part is probably the key you're looking for

Dept of Justice declassified them on Jan 9th this year. He was a little busy that week doing a massive pile of other things, besides Trump had promised to release them, why would he prioritise something no one was asking for ahead of things like student debt relief and pardons for non violent drug offenders ?

So the files were unsealed for a year during Bidens administration and they still weren't released?

There's a clash between the tweet saying jan 2024, and the reddit post saying jan 9th 2025.

Will have to confirm

No. The files were unsealed in the last week of his presidency jan 2025

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ok, so he had a week. Call me crazy, but the pedophile ring that supposedly implicates our entire ruling class in child molestation is kind of important, and the people should know about it.

Biden had a week. Trump has had 6 months. Trump campaigned on releasing it, Biden was hurriedly trying to get too much done in too little time.

If there's Democrats on the list they should rot in hell with Trump and Epstein.

But pointing the finger at Biden is straight up deflection to protect Trump. There is no other way to view it.

Trump & Bondi have the primary culpability here. Whataboutism really only protects the Fanta Felon

[-] SaltySalamander@fedia.io 8 points 2 weeks ago

Biden respected the law, though. The files were sealed by a judge until after Ghoulaine Maxwell's trial. They weren't unsealed until after Jan 2024. Biden couldn't, by law, release them.

Biden didn't run a cult. He allowed the DOJ to operate independently of the executive, unlike Trump who demands loyalty oaths and treats every agency like his personal operatives.

That's the current Fox News whataboutist talking point. Did you even read the article?

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 1 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, I did, or else I wouldn’t have even known what pedocon meant. We already know there’s going to be some democrats on the list, or at the very least their donors. I don’t understand why this one isn’t a valid point.
