Fellas, is it feminine to punch holes into your ears? SMH @ gender norms.
Another way that I'd like to think of it is that yes piercing your ears is feminine, but anyone can do it because feminine traits are good too. Manly man muscle bound gym bro wants to pierce his ears? Go for it! Embracing an aspect of the feminine doesn't diminish his masculinity. (But yes I understand the counterpoint of wanting to abolish gender norms. That works too ❤️)
I suppose I can get behind that idea, but ear piercings being feminine is just so arbitrary; most body modifications aren't thought of as feminine so much, e.g. tattoos aren't feminine unless you pick very feminine designs. I suppose even with ear piercings it depends on the style? Ear gauges aren't particularly feminine.
Fuck gender stereotypes.
Except when people use them to feel more like their gender. Then more power to them.
