Basically every BLM candidate ran on the wonky position of "deferring police funding to alternative services" which Mamdani has repeated. the-podcast interviewed people in Baltimore who effectively did defund the cops, and managed to both decrease crime and police encounters.

What kind of argument is this? No one is saying Zohran should abolish policing (like he even could). This is just an absurd misrepresentation for the sake of being contrarian.
