Ur just parroting what western "media" wants you to. RT doesn't cave to western narratives so the recourse for western "media" is to slander it as "propaganda"
just to putin’s narratives
Are they more factual than western narratives? Yes. Everything is more factual than western narratives, which get made up by zenz&co
If reality had western bias then Ukraine would've won the war by now.
Show me you don't read without telling me so.
Unlike you, not only do I read western media extensively, I also have reading comprehension to understand what it's been saying.
Oddly enough, saying you comprehend different from actual comprehension.
Most Western media has been "well, Ukraine's fucked." "Long term, can Ukraine survive this war?"
Are you getting confused between individual battlefield/operational success versus the strategic reality?
For three whole years western media promised that Russia was on the verge of collapse both militarily and economically. They said that Russia is running out of weapons, that Russian troops fight with shovels, that Russian economy is in shambles. Turns out that literally all of it was complete and utter bullshit. Now we're finally entering the stages where it's no longer possible to pretend that the west can possibly win the war, and the real world is finally starting to slowly seep through the walls of the media bubble western media created.
The only one deeply confused here is you apparently.
Lol, show me an article that said Russia was on the brink of military collapse and I'll show you an article you've misunderstood (or some non reputable journalism.)
Here's a glimpse of the alternate reality western media has been selling while you've been living in a cave
can't wait to have these articles explained to me by a real western media understander
Yeah, they wrote all of those reports before Putin bought them out and replaced all of the staff with Russian trolls. That is how badly Putin is doing right now: he is literally so desperate to win that he spent trillions of rubles acquiring Western media while his army keeps screaming for help.
I promise that Russia will lose the war tomorrow.
I ansolutly agree here, the western media was telling everyone how great it's going, but its just copium. But Russian media was doing the exact same bullshit. Can we all agree that media is biased and always political.
Looking back, it's pretty clear that Russian media has been far more grounded in reality than western media. Of course, it's not because Russian media is somehow morally superior, it just happens to be easier to report factually when facts align with your narrative. Hence why it's so dangerous to confine yourself to a particular media bubble and ignore all other sources.
Even just a casual glance through some of these shows they do not say what you think they do.
Choose one, your favourite or whatever, tell me exactly why you think it means Russia's military was collapsing and I'm happy to explain what the article is actually saying.
Edit: best hurry if you want a response soon. Once my build is deployed, I'm done here for the night. And you are not interesting enough to bother with in my free time.
I don't care about your response, I posted these to illustrate how utterly full of shit you are. The fact that you just keep digging is frankly amazing. Since you're evidently overwhelmed by the evidence against your claim, I'll pick a random one for you here. Go ahead and give it your best spin, I can't wait to be entertained https://www.foreignaffairs.com/russian-federation/putin-last-stand-russia-defeat
When you say you read and comprehend, are you talking about just the tagline, or are you really claiming you read this article and think it supports your claim that
Maybe reread the first four paragraphs and try again? Or, double down but, uhhh, that seems pretty silly.
No, I'm talking about the entire article which very clearly suggests that Russia is losing. Hilariously, the first paragraph you're referencing describes precisely what we're seeing happen now as something that wouldn't happen:
Maybe sign up for an English course?
Wow.... You really think the above happened? Russia was supposed to walk into Kyiev in a couple of weeks. Instead, Russia's taken a miserable amount of territory at an insane cost of men, had to reorient the economy, beg Iran and China for drones and clearly is the subservient partner behind China.
You might note that the author's first defeat scenario is a peace treaty that would let Putin have some trifling territory like Crimea. (Admittedly, as the article is more than 2.5 years old, battlefield conditions changed and there'll likely be more territorial concessions but the basic shape of the agreememnt is similar.)
But if you want to pretend that the Ukraine debacle has been the glorious adventure outlined above, well, I guess enough RT, or a childish refusal to acknowledge being wrong on the internet, will do that to someone.
Russia did indeed nearly make a deal with Ukraine in Istanbul before the west told Ukraine that they wouldn't get security guarantees if that happened. From that point on it became an actual war that Russia is currently winning. The fact that you think the war is about territory shows that you have absolutely no clue regarding the subject you're opining on.
Meanwhile, Russia successfully reorienting its economy away from the west shows just how irrelevant the west has become now. Russia's economy is now growing faster than any western economy. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68823399
The World Bank just reclassified Russia as a high income country https://blogs.worldbank.org/en/opendata/world-bank-country-classifications-by-income-level-for-2024-2025
I do love your cope of calling Russia subservient to China. I guess you must be projecting the status of Canada regarding the US here.
And how did they change in the completely opposite direction of what western media was prediction genius?
It's quite clear that the war in Ukraine showed that NATO is impotent, that Russia is able to not only survive, but actually grow its economy without the west, it massively increased Chinese geopolitical position, strengthened BRICS, and kicked off dedollarization. This is precisely the scenario above. I guess uncritically guzzling western propaganda or a childish refusal to acknowledge being wrong on the internet, will do that to someone.
I can't tell if you're just unconstrained by objective reality or a not particularly well oriented LLM but either way, you do you.
There's not much to be gained by someone/something doing the equivalent of "nononononononononononono I'm not listening!"
Did ChatGPT help you write that?
I can’t begin to imagine how much effort it must take to lack this much self-awareness.
What a strange response.
Some people are never worth the time. Block and breathe easy.
Good words to remember!
On this one, it's a little fun to kinda bully someone being a silly Billy. But I've got a note on him so if I encounter in the wild, I just ignore, giggle and move on.
Every large state actor uses media as a propaganda tool, I‘m sure you know that. Blocking yourself to only get fed one version is … well, how about you build some media literacy and sharpen your critical thinking skills, instead. That way you‘ll be able to really decide for yourself. How long did western media parrot IDF propaganda? Oh, they still do? Damn ol‘ reality!
Right, so you'd ignore the NYT on Isreal. Yeah? Or when Al Jazeera defends Qatar.
Why don't you feel the same way about Russia Today... on Russia?
Reaching a conclusion is not a failure of critical thinking skills; it's what they're for. You're not just allowed to recognize consistent bullshit - you're expected to.
If you really don't understand the difference between a news organization with which you disagree and a state actor in all but name, that's on you.
It's a state actor in name.
This feels like one of my trailer park boys exchanges:
Julian: Ricky, do you know how stupid you sound right now?
Ricky: Yes I do!
Thanks for the giggles.
You might wanna skim this thread for a second read on what you think I think.
I was especially talking about blocking lemmy instances, but wasn‘t very clear on that. I‘m with you. Their conclusion was to block the goof‘s instance. By your logic then, they‘d have to stop consuming media period.
Multiple points of view are useful, the Kremlin's mouthpiece is not. If you practiced that media literacy you're talking about, you'd understand the difference.
And the blocking myself is to be polite so I don't keep scolding you goofs for choosing the dumbest possible source of "information."
Believe me, I know how to find propoganda like RT or trump's truth social feed, there's just no value to be gained from them.
Yes yes, I wasn‘t very clear here. I didn‘t argue for RT, idgaf about them. I‘m talking about blocking lemmy instances, because of ideologic dissonances. GL, fellow goof.
