That assumes a binary of either nihilism or fundamentalism. That's not how the vast majority of humanity think or feel.
For example, I'm staunchly and categorically against organized religion, but that doesn't mean that I'll dismiss the opinion of anyone who happens to be religious. That would make me a bigot and a fool.
I WILL on the other hand be extremely skeptical of any fundamentalist as the rigid absolutism that entails leads to the denial of any objective reality that doesn't conform to their core beliefs.
Ironically, your assumption that ideology = fundamentalism is itself casually fundamentalist bordering on bigoted in its absolutism.
Is the Tldr "Only a sith deals in absolutes?"
