To me this just proves that the SOE model from China is the next phase of capitalism. Each successive capitalist mode of production in history has ascended by innovating off the previous model, usually by internalizing some major cost. US finance capital has been grasping for the last remnants of profit for decades through the neoliberal model, now we'll see if more industries adopt some level of state stakeholding.

It's really just a reversion to some elements of mid century capitalism, pre-beoliberalism. And it's not like we're gonna get the welfare state to go with it.
