Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Why does it matter if it's impartial or not? Just go read the thread on Ubuntu discourse if you want to verify the information? It's all there. The mod fucked up. Simple as that. It's good that someone brought this to light.

No really, what difference it make if the source is impartial if you can verify on your own that what they said is true?
