I believe it's exactly this. This is like somebody coming up with a great trading strategy, once they scale it, it doesn't work anymore (because they are a big chunk of the market now).
The assumption is maybe humans will find something else to do that AI can't yet?
On the other side, given the miniscule growth of LLMs since gpt4, I am on Yan Lecun team, that's all you can squeeze out of a next token generation model, so I think the bubble will simply burst, some fields will change quite a bit, but almost nobody will be replaced.
