Maybe enjoying a depiction that vaguely resembles a future you'd like to achieve that maybe kind of aligns with your beliefs isn't the same as inventing a belief whole cloth and making it your entire personality based on an image.
Maybe the second one pretty much never happens and you're attacking something that isn't even real.
