Piracy is good and you should do more of it. Use https://aniwave.to/ and https://4anime.gg/ for streaming, and https://nyaa.si/ for torrents. Piracy is the only means of digital protest that audiences have to fight poor worker treatment.
I haven't watched anime in a while but I recall these as being solid and not porno. They should all be about the same level of maturity as Attack on Titan and JoJo. Also just in case you didn't know. Naruto has two sequels. Naruto Shippuden which follows Naruto still after a time skip, and then Boruto which follows his son.
If you need more I can go poke my friend and see if we can come up with more.
That's rad. Thank you.
My list is growing and growing! Kiddo has a serious backlog already. Thanks for the recommendations.
Cowboy Bebop might be a little 'arthouse' for a 13 year old (it isn't really, it's just a very stylish action show with cool themes, but it can be kinda slow and obtuse at times) but it's one of the best anime out there if you think she'd be into that kind of thing. It's also one of the more violent recommendations you've gotten, nothing too much for a 13 year old imo but some kids are pretty sensitive to that even into their teens.
Spy x Family is a full on comedy, very silly, great recommendation if she likes that sort of thing.
Avatar is the most kiddie recommendation so far, its target audience is really ~7. It is a great show and it drops a lot of the more childish elements by the second season, but a lot of season 1 is very very childish. Like episode 4 they visit an island of female warriors so the sexist manly man of the group can get beat up and learn that sexism is wrong and women can do man stuff too. Not a bad message but very transparently a lesson for kids, and there are a few that are like that in season 1.
She is a sensitive type but tv violence doesn't seem to bother her too much, it's more the emotional stuff I think. I've caught a tear or two when something sappy comes on and I love her for it.
She said Cowboy Bebop looks cool and asked if I can download it as one of the first ones. We are coming up with a priority list now, from all the suggestions everyone has given me so far.
That's awesome, I hope she loves Cowboy Bebop as much as I do.
Avatar is still great at 13, thoroughly enjoyed it at that age
