We’ve been around for three years on a lemmy fork before federation. The lack of federation for years as well as the place we splintered off from (/r/chapotraphouse) already having a unique microculture within Reddit has given this instance, in my opinion, a distinct culture compared to general-purpose and even other hobbyist instances.
Regarding specifics, Hexbear is a vehemently queer-friendly/intersectional anti-sectarian socialist instance. Check us out

Season 2 was much better that way
I listened to Korea first and I've never felt hate as intensely in my life. just an overflowing and neverending torrent of hatred after listening to the description of what the US did to the DPRK in the course of the war. virtually every city leveled and the people forced into caves underground to avoid the bombing, and all for what? to institute a brutal police state attempting to stamp out every progressive tendency on the population?
