I found a big deep (dry) below-sea-level depression in the desert, very near to a river and the sea, it could easily be turned into either a fresh water lake or a gulf. Idk what to do with this info (hexbear.net)

Find the steepest hillside, dig some swales on it, plant arid-adapted plants in guilds along the swale, and try to get grasses to situate permanently. Get the water to flow into a network of roots so it doesn't just evaporate.
