I only know about him because he would show up in ads promoting his late-late night show (which I couldn't watch coz it aired at like 2 am). Growing up it would've been unthinkable to show anything non-gender conforming on regular hours on TV. The only time was when Betty la fea had Don Armando cross dress as a punchline.

The name rings a bell but I don't think she was ever a thing where I'm from.
Divine was a very big drag queen in the US, we got our own version who basically just stole her whole thing? I don't know honestly, I only have some vague memories myself.
