"Taken over" is a weird way to phrase it. The hosts of the podcast went from being left liberals (Dasha is the populariser of the concept of "Worms in their brains" in online discourse, using it to describe people who opposed medicare for all) in the chapo orbit and personal friends with a lot of those people to foaming at the mouth fascists.

It was specifically used for an Infowars reporter who was asking college students about Bernie Sanders in the Dem primaries. The reporter brings up Venezuelans eating rats and then Dasha asks if she has worms in her brain. At the time she was known as “Sailor Socialism” by the internet.
That Infowars reporter eventually left and now she’s a lesbian Anarchist OF creator. The two of them swapped ideologies.
