I've tried reading the Silmarillion a few times, could never get through it. I've nothing against those who like it, but man, it's so boring!

Skip the first couple chapters about singing the world into existence. Once elves arrive on the block, it gets fantastically interesting!

I've read it three times.

I love it so, SO much but it's like reading the bible. There are so many characters to keep straight and the language is so arcane.
